The practice was formed in 1993 by Leslie. In 2007 we relocated from the the Mill of Durn, Portsoy (restored by Leslie in 1986) to Stroma, a large Victorian house in Cullen, on the Moray Firth coast.
Leslie Hunter is Conservation Accredited at the highest level (A) by the RIAS. He is also a Fellow of the RIAS. Building conservation remains a strong part of the practice workload but many new building opportunities have been developed over recent years.
Our reputation as architects stems from our belief that all of our building projects must respond to site factors and local influences. We draw upon traditional massing and detailing, and work this into contemporary schemes filled with natural light, modern services and the highest levels of energy efficiency.
The practice is currently expanding into fields of Master Planning for rural regeneration and business. Key factors in such development are the repair and reuse of existing buildings alongside the development of sustainable design solutions for new buildings.
The selected projects illustrate our core values of context, quality of detail, and economy of resources. The practice is committed to providing appropriate and affordable design solutions to meet our clients highest aspirations.
